Wow! This is quite a welcome I'm getting in this new world. I have to say that these past few days have been a bit overwhelming for me. It has been a big change for me but I'm getting used to it. I figure it's shaping up to be a pretty good life.
Well, thanks mostly to MOM! Gee, she's pretty special! Of course, I've known her before today but, wow, it's sure nice to be sharing this new adventure with such a nice lady. I don't think I could have done it without her - and let's not forget - my new Dad and those little people who run around and play games. My sister and brother - I think that's what Mom called them yesterday. I can't wait to get on my feet and start running too. That 'playing' thing looks like lots of fun.

But hey, I have something special going on today. Can't you tell - by the way I'm dressed? I'm not up on all the details but I've listened a bit and figured out it's about new beginnings. Wow, you get tons of hugs and kisses, and people make a really big fuss over you when you're starting a new beginning. I can get used to this!
Anyway, in case you don't know, it's all about a christening. It seems to be about something out of this world. And you sure get dressed up pretty snazzy for this special day. They call this a christening gown. It's really soft and I am glad it doesn't make me itchy. I think my gown is organza. Isn't it adorable - all floaty and nice! I heard Mom trying to make up her mind about the gown. It seems like they come in all kinds of soft stuff like satin and silk and cotton.
I'm glad it doesn't make me too hot, but my Mom - she thinks of everything. Here, look, there's a christening blanket if I get cold but I don't think I will on this warm day. But Mom says she likes to be prepared. She's so sweet!
Isn't my christening gown really super though? Look at those ribbons down there! Oops, I can't reach them. I think there's even some on the back of my gown. Gee, I wish I could see back there. Hey, look at this cool stuff like flowers - embroidery - at least that's what one of my new relatives called it - exquisite embroidery.
Yes, my Mom found me a 2-piece flower embroidered organza christening dress. See the shiny trim on my sleeves - satin, it's called. There's even a sash and a hat. I can take them off or leave them on. I think I'll leave them on. And check out my little booties and ruffled socks!
I'm mostly in white but I see a little pink down there on my pretty socks. Oh, and did I tell you the best part, I get a new name today! Sorry I can't tell you what it is. We didn't announce it yet but it's a pretty name. My Mom and Dad picked it out, but they ran it by me too, and I cooed my approval.
Yes, it's a pretty special day! Lots of stuff to think about with this new life and all! I feel like a 'pink princess' today but I might not be a princess when I grow up. Maybe I'll explore new worlds or run a country or run a marathon maybe - when I learn how to stand on my own two feet. But my Mom already told me I can be whatever I want and I plan to follow her advice. She's a smart lady and this is one baby who values Mom's point of view.
And she's got good fashion sense, too. These Pink Princess christening gowns are awesome - and not just for girls! Nope, I have a little new cousin who just got one of their tuxedos. Everyone is 'oohing' and 'aahing' over him too but that's ok. There's enough love in this world for us all to share! Well, see you later! Got to pick up my name now! Bye!
